CAREER CENTER
The newest of the Dress for Success programs is the Career Center. Developed and staffed by a team of volunteer Career Specialists, the Career Center provides computer and Internet access, office machines, desks, office supplies and phones for client use.
Most importantly, volunteers experienced in Human Resources are available to give instruction in interviewing techniques, resume and cover letter preparation, job search assistance, credit repair, debt-reduction strategies, presentation skills, office etiquette, promotion negotiation and time management.
One of the goals of Dress for Success Oregon is to provide long term support, mentoring and skill-building for every client who needs and wants to improve her chances for personal and professional stability. In line with this goal, in 2011 the Career Center expanded significantly from a small area with one computer to a five-computer center and classroom with expanded educational opportunities, increased mentoring and volunteer support.
The Career Center facilities are now available for client use during regular business hours Monday through Friday as well as the first and third Saturdays of each month. Clients should call ahead to check on availability. For more information on Career Center Services, please contact Patty McMahon at pattym@dressforsuccessoregon.org.
