Suiting ProgramThis program is the signature program of the organization and the one for which it gets the most recognition. Clients who are “job ready” and have an interview scheduled are referred by social service agencies to Dress for Success Oregon. The women meet one-on-one with a volunteer personal shopper at an appointed time to ensure that they receive the personal attention they deserve. They leave the DFSO shop with workplace-appropriate clothing and a significant boost in their sense of self-confidence. Career CenterThe Career Center was developed and staffed by 19 human resource professionals who volunteer to help women advance in their careers, the Career Center provides resume assistance, coaching, interview practice, workplace problem-solving and access to opportunities for professional advancement. Going Places NetworkAs part of a national grant from the Walmart Foundation, Dress for Success Oregon launched the Going Places Network by Walmart in 2011. The Going Places Network by Walmart helps unemployed and under-employed Dress for Success clients gain professional skills, accelerate their job search and build confidence through weekly training sessions, one-on-one career coaching and networking in a supportive environment. Professional MentoringWorking with Portlandia, a professional women’s networking group, Dress for Success Oregon provides mentors for clients who want, and can benefit from, a one-on-one relationship with a woman who has been successful in her career. Learn more.
